Driving to the Opéra Garnier address in your car
Although traffic in downtown Paris is often congested, you still may choose to take a car there. Pay attention to one-way roads, of which there are quite a few around the Place Diaghilev. You will undoubtedly have a hard time parking in the street as there are very few free spots. Fortunately, there are underground parking garages nearby, including the Meyerbeer Opera Parking Opéra at 3 Rue de la Chaussée d'Antin, which is just 800 feet from the main entrance to the Palais Garnier.
Palais Garnier: easy access by Metro
The Opéra Garnier is right in the heart of Paris and easily accessible via public transportation. The Opéra Metro stop is the closest one to the Palais Garnier and it is served by lines 3, 7 and 8. You can also get there quickly on the RER A line, exiting at the Auber stop. Or take the Metro's line 9 and hop off at the Chaussée d'Antin-Lafayette stop: now walk less than 1,000 feet and you're there!
Walk to the Opéra Garnier
Do you feel like taking a stroll? The Opéra Garnier is situated right in the touristic bustle of Paris, so it's easy to embark on a walking adventure to reach the Palais Garnier on foot from some of the most iconic monuments in the city.
You are just a 17-minute walk from the Palais du Louvre (0.8 mile). Our advice is to depart from Place du Carrousel and walk along Rue des Pyramides (where PARISCityVISION is located), then Avenue de l'Opéra.
From the Pompidou Center, allow just under a half-hour of walking time. To get to the Opéra Garnier, start out on heading west on Rue Rambuteau before veering north on Rue Montmartre, then continuing westward on Rue du 4 Septembre.
The Parc Monceau is also about a half-hour from the Opéra Garnier on foot. Walk south on Boulevard Malesherbes, then turn east on Boulevard Haussmann and you will arrive on the back side of the monument.
