Chartres

Situated 80 km from Orleans and 90 km from Paris, at the head of the Loire Valley Chartres is most famous for its Cathedral and the oldest intact stained glass windows from as early as the 12th Century. Chartres is nicknamed «  Capital of lights and perfume » and from April to September you can enjoy the spectacle of colored lights and music throughout the town.

The Notre Dame Cathedral is a world heritage site since Unesco’s decision in 1979 and attracts pilgrims from all over the world for the feast of Pentecost, they walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris taking 3 days. With its dominant position, the panoramic view from the tower is breathtaking.
